For this project, we implemented a combination of systems and solutions to realize the client's vision of modernizing regional agriculture. The aim was to increase production to meet the needs of the country’s growing population and improve the standard of living in local communities.
The BSWi Agro-Greenhouse Program is an ongoing regional project consisting of a series of greenhouses, an advanced training center, and a logistics facility. The program comprises a unique combination of solutions. These include ongoing, in-the-field agricultural training; agricultural extension services to empower and educate local farmers; and improved techniques, seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides for enhanced productivity and efficiency.
The Agro-Greenhouse Program is working to establish a sustainable knowledgebase in each of the target communities so that they can continue it independently. The program stands as a proven model that offers a plethora of services to smallholder farmers. The variety of methods taught and services offered meet the needs and conditions determined by each of the country’s regions.
BSWi executed the program in partnership with the relevant government bodies. When determining greenhouse locations, the benefits for each region and relevant factors including population, accessibility, and available infrastructure (electricity, water, communication, facilities, roads, etc.) were taken into account.
The Agro-Greenhouse Program offers direct support to farmers in regard to their daily, agrotechnical needs, and on-site Microtraining where necessary. The program established protocols and professional standards, as well as training across a range of different agricultural topics to support greenhouse production and the wider farming community.
